The film, based on short stories by Marek Nowakowski, tells the fictional story of a high school student Jacek, who in the context of Grzegorz Przemyk’s tragic fate, serves as a universal sign of his times. The events of this 24-hour story take place on the 3rd and 4th of May, 1982. The aim of the film is to debunk the myths about the martial law and to recreate the atmosphere of those times which, until now, has been presented through selective, documentary-style images, observed from afar by the camera, often cold and paired with an unremarkable narrative. In terms of form, the film combines classic photography with comic book-style animation and archival footage. Music from the era enhances the atmosphere and texture of the narrative.
