The Two Eagles House iis a historical series depicting the tragically intertwined fates of Poles, Germans and Ukrainians, whose paths cross in an old, post-German villa built in Breslau, now Wrocław. The story starts in 1997, the day before the historic flood that devasted Wrocław. A joyful and talented student of architecture Marianna Szablewska, returns to her hometown after a scholarship in the U.S. The girl wants to introduce her fiancé Paul to Helena, her mother, and Zofia – her beloved grandmother. At night, the house gets flooded up to the first floor. Among many other findings, the receding water reveals a previously well-hidden diary of Lisa Weber. The entries of the diary take the viewers back to 1918, to the estate of the Webers, a family of German origin, and to Kresy, the borderlands of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, where the Szablewski family and their Ukrainian neighbours used to live side by side.
