The film tells the life story of the national hero of Georgia, the corporal of the 41st battalion of the 4th infantry brigade, Giorgi Antsukhelidze. In August of 2008, during the war between Georgia and Russia, this open-hearted, bright, physically strong, and morally unyielding soldier was captured by the Ossetian separatists and tortured to death. Videos of his torture were distributed on the internet. The film features Giorgi’s family members and friends. In his native village of Alvani, the ritual mourning called „Dalaoba” and a horse race are held every year in his honour. One of the peaks in the Caucasus range is named after him. The film includes unique and exclusive archival footage that was captured throughout the national hero’s lifetime. The film shows how he lived, what his aspirations were, and whether his loved ones expected such a heroic deed from him.
